Goldbrand is a one-handed katana with a fire enchantment that is gained after completing Boethia's Shrine Quest in Oblivion. The Quest consists of battling a combatant of another race other than your own. and can be extremely difficult if not prepared for. The Quest can only be initiated after one reaches level 20.
The reward, Goldbrand, has a base damage of 25 at max blade skill and a fire enchantment of 22. This weapon's base damage is nearly the highest of all blade weapons, bested only by the legendary Umbra.
