Khajiit are feline mermen hailing from Elsweyr. They are one of the three 'beast folk' (the others be Orcs of Orsinium and the Argonians of Black Marsh). Khajiit are very intelligent and agile, making them excellent thieves, and they can also see in the dark. They often keep to their selves.
In the Elder Scroll universe, Khajiit make excellent thieves. They get great stat boosts in agility and marksman. Don't try to turn one into a mage though; that is where they are really lacking.
