Set 40 years after the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls IV: The Shivering Isles, a new threat has arrived in Cyrodiil. A floating city known only as "Umbriel" has appeared over Tamriel.
When the floating city begins to land on people, naturally killing them, an army of undead is arisen in place of the bodies. The new Emperor's son forms an unlikely group who must find out the secrets of the mysterious city before it's to late.
