The only weapons ingame can be obtained by finding, buying or earning. You cannot smith weaponry in Oblivion. In the Expansion Shivering Isles, certain weapons can be created by smithing, but not by the player.
The weapons are broken down into 6 categories:
- Blade One Hand (Blade)
- Longswords (includes Cutlasses and Katanas)
- Shortswords
- Daggers
- Longswords (includes Cutlasses and Katanas)
- Blade Two Hand (Blade)
- Claymores (includes Dai-Katanas)
- Claymores (includes Dai-Katanas)
- Blunt One Hand (Blunt)
- War Axes
- Maces (includes Clubs)
- War Axes
- Blunt Two Hand (Blunt)
- Battle Axes
- Warhammers
- Battle Axes
- Bows (Marksman)
- Staffs (no Skill)
They will become damaged the more you use them and you'll need to use a repair hammer or take them to a smith to fix them. After a weapon is broken completely you will no longer be able to use it until it is repaired. All unenchanted weapons can be enchanted.
